Dam safety plans
Watercourse dams and flood embankments are governed by the Dam Safety Act (Patoturvallisuuslaki, 494/2009). The responsibilities of dam owners include maintaining and repairing the dam, monitoring the dam for safety, inspecting the dam and keeping the documents concerning the dam up to date.
We offer comprehensive dam safety services. We draw up dam building and repair plans and monitoring programmes. We consolidate dam documents into one dam safety file and, if necessary, conduct risk assessments and prepare safety plans with the help of our partner network. We provide expert assistance with annual and regular inspections of dams.
