Field drain maps on your smart device
We can import paper maps to the map application on your smart device. A smart device goes everywhere with you and you won’t need to worry about tearing a paper map when you are out in the field.
Pipelines are imported to the coordinate system as line data, which allows you to locate field drain pipes and catch basins using your smart device. This makes it easier to look after your field drains and install additional suction pumps on your own. It is also possible to update the information relating to the installation of new field drains later on, when all field drain maps of the farm have been made, using the same map template.
All you need is a smartphone or tablet with an Android or iOS operating system and GPS positioning. You can use a free application, such as Google Earth or MyMaps, or a paid application. You can also find plenty of other free map applications in the app store on your device.
You can email a Maveplan field drainage technician and ask them to send you a file detailing your field drains, which you can import to your map application. The positioning accuracy depends on the features of your smart device and the available satellite connections. The resolution of the available field drain map also has an impact on the accuracy. New maps and maps that have been designed for the coordinate system are more accurate than old hand-drawn maps.
